Hostel B
Flights of stairs at Hostel B

We spent a fine evening with many others, enjoying a meal lovingly prepared by Blanca and Joaquin, owner's of Hostel B.
Mando chatted with Ana Maria, in Spanish, all evening. Roberto, her husband, speaking mostly Spanish, and me mostly English, communicated surprisingly well. Ana Maria and Roberto are longtime veterans of many Caminos.
There was a family from Dublin who sang happy birthday to all of us while celebrating a family member's birthday by iphone. Joaquin and others joined in with a chorus of Las Mananitas, and then sang other Spanish songs together, as well.
At some point in the evening, Joaquin brought out his private Orujo, and shared small glasses, for all who wanted to partake. This felt like an especially warm gesture. Orujo is a beautiful yellow liquor made only from the skin of pressed grapes. It warms all the way down.
Roberto and Ana Maria suggest that next Camino we walk be the Via de la Plata, from Seville to Astorga.
Their favorite.
963 kilometers.
Ambitious.
