The way
A haiku:
Intrepid friend Sue Has a blog full of badgers. But is she afoot?
(Thank you friend Larry)
I COULD HAVE STARTED THE STORY OF MY JOURNEY:
Had a 45 minute flight delay from LAX for refueling causing a missed connecting flight to Biarritz. Therefore, no planned rest day in St Jean Pied de Port, in order to make a reservation at Orisson.
With four hours of sleep + jet lag + time difference (10 a.m. California is 1 a.m. France) started walking...
HOWEVER:
At breakfast in Orisson, talking with new friends Max and Dylan, Max said, "Yeah, nobody wants to hear what went wrong with our journeys because every person has their own problems." Dylan added, "Yeah, for instance, my car broke down in Paris on the way here and I had a difficult time getting to the Camino. People don't want to hear about that. People want to know what's going right."
SO, HERE'S WHAT'S GOING RIGHT:
The airplane had enough gas to get to France.
And also...

So glad to see your posts--we were starting to worry more had gone wrong than a missed connection. But you are underway and walking, tired or otherwise, and it looks beautiful and inspiring. Great to see the pictures and read your words. Good luck on the climb tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThanks the climb went surprisingly well.
DeleteContrary to the advice from your new friends, I want to hear about your challenges as well as the joys. Having just returned from our trip, I am just catching up on your journey. So glad the difficulty getting there did not interfere with your walk.
ReplyDeleteThe above comment was from Judy. Don't know why it said unknown.
