Calzadilla de la Cueza
A long walk today with a late start. In the early morning; rain, strong winds, and 17 kilometers with no services. The road appeared to go on forever. No one in sight for a long stretch. No town to be seen.
Rooftop in the distance
After more than 22 kilometers, rooftops barely recognizable and a person appeared out of nowhere.
Right over the hill was a little alburgue that turned out to be ours.
The town took us all by surprise, and the three of us let out a little cheer as we had one of the easiest walks to an alburgue that I can remember.
A nice dinner with two French women, Anne and Marie-Jacob, and a young man, Johan, from the Netherlands. A bottom bunk with clean paper sheets and a view.
The View
It's turned out to be a good day on the Meseta.
